SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -

The man in charge of Detroit Public Schools announced plans for a new mentoring program in the district thanks to a new partnership with Lear Corporation.

Roy Roberts joined FOX 2 News Morning, along with Lear CEO Matt Simoncini, to talk about the auto suppliers multi-year commitment to the program, which will feature high school students earning money to mentor and tutor fellow grade school students.

"It's never been done before and we're really excited about it," said Roberts.
