MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -
Minneapolis police confirm that a bicyclist was run over and trapped underneath a Minnesota Valley Transit bus near the University of Minnesota campus in Dinkytown on Tuesday afternoon.
The crash occurred at about 4:20 p.m. at the intersection of Fourth Street and 10th Avenue.
Investigators say both the bus and the bicyclist were traveling west on Fourth Street when they both turned to head south on 10th Avenue and the bus ran over the bicycle.
Rescue workers say the biker was trapped under the bus for a time, but she was eventually freed and taken to HCMC.
Officials say the victim is expected to survive. Though her identity has not yet been released, police said investigators believe she is a student at the U.
