FHP: Construction worker injured in hit and run

A hit and run incident sent a construction worker to the hospital on Wednesday. 

Investigators with the Florida Highway Patrol said a southbound lane of State Road 417 near E. Colonial Drive was closed for paving work.  Troopers said the driver struck the construction worker and then fled the scene.

The construction worker was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center for treatment and is said to be in stable condition.

The incident is being investigated by the FHP.
