A homeless man is being called a hero after investigators say he stopped a man from kidnapping a 14-year-old on her way to school Wednesday.
Orange County deputies say Carlos Caban, 24, tried to snatch the girl along County Road 419 near State Road 50, but a homeless man jumped out from the woods and scared him away.
Deputies say Caban confronted several other women, but they also got away.
The Orlando Sentinel reports Caban was released from prison in August after serving four years for armed robbery.
Caban is scheduled to face a judge Thursday morning on battery and stalking charges.
