Man shot dead during Leesburg home invasion

Leesburg Police are investigating a home invasion and attempted robbery in which a man was shot dead Tuesday, authorities said.

When police responding to a 911 call arrived at an apartment at Villa Maison on the 400 block of S. 9th St., a woman told them two men had entered the apartment and tried to rob her and the victim.

At some point, Jeffrey W. Brown, 36, was shot at least once in the torso and died before paramedics could arrive.

The suspects, of unknown race, were wearing all-black clothing. No other physical description was provided.
