ATLANTA -
Shopping for the women in your life can be tough when it comes to technology especially for mothers.
FOX 5's Doug Evans has compiled a list for the Top Tech Gifts for Mom and has kept it under $200 because she shouldn't just get technology as a gift.
Starting at the cell phone store, two of the hottest selling smart phones made the list for moms. The first is a no brainer: The iPhone 5. The second is the Samsung GALAXY S III. The iPhone 5 and GALAXY S III all retail for around $199 with several of the major carriers.
But maybe mom needs a table. Looking for a table under $200 is challenging, but there are two great ones in the category. Amazon's all-new Kindle Fire HD and Google's Nexus 7 fall within the price range. The iPad missed the list with a price range starting around $300.
Of course, if mom has a phone and table, there are still other ideas in the technology world.
For the mom looking to get or stay in shape, there's the Fitbit Wireless Activity Tracker. Verizon let FOX 5's Doug Evans try out the device. It keeps track of the steps he took every day and calculated how many calories were burned. It can also track sleeping habits to see how restful of a night he was having. He could find out his progress online and set challenges for each day. The Fitbit retails for about $99.
For moms passionate about cooking, there's the Key Ingredient Recipe Reader. It is a tablet device built for the rigors of the kitchen which can allow the user to store personal recipes or select from thousands at the Key Ingredients website. The Key Ingredient Recipe Reader retails for about $179.
