The teams competing in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl made the rounds at Children's Healthcare facilities on Thursday.
Louisiana State University and Clemson football players distributed team gear and signed autographs to young patients.
LSU players offered words of encouraged to small patients facing big health challenges at Scottish Rite.
"He loves playing all sports. Football is one of them. He liked it. They made his day," said Peggy Sall, a mother of a young patient.
Across town, Clemson players visited the Egleston campus.
"To have an opportunity to see these kids is something that we get more out of than they do, to be honest," said Clemson coach William Christopher "Dabo" Swinney.
The players made a big impression on the kids and provided inspiration.
"That's wonderful for the little kids to have fun while they're in here," said Yasmine Tate, the mother of a patient.
Players said they were grateful for the chance to give back.
"Really coming and being able to give back is such a huge deal. We're so blessed to play this game. To come and to give back to these kids is a huge part of it," said LSU Tigers player Ben Dominque.
Every year the football teams in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl visit children at local hospitals.
On Thursday night, both teams will take part in go-cart races at Andretti Racing. They will hold news conferences on Friday. Monday is the Chick-Fil-A Bowl parade and game.
