Finishing touches and last-minute preparations are under way for Saturday's Orlando Citrus Parade, which takes place each year between Orlando's two bowl games.
At the Orange County Convention Center, Fox 35's David Martin got a backstage peek at some of the floats, which feature thousands of pieces of citrus fruit.
"The building process starts in September, with design and building," said Stephanie Hanisak, the parade manager.
The floats are at the convention center for the fruit and signs to be attached to them. "All of the fruit is attached by rubber bands," Hanisak said.
At least 10,000 pieces of fruit are on the Capital One Bowl float alone, she estimates.
After the parade, all fruit is donated to area food banks.
The best place to sit? "I would sit in the grandstand, because that's the best place to see the entries and floats," Hanisak said.
Tickets to sit in the grandstand cost $28, but it's free to stand along the parade route and watch.
The parade starts at 10 a.m. and should last about two hours. It is broadcast on nation television.
