CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
Parents gathered at Saint Sabina Church on the city's South Side Monday night to call an end to the violence that has taken many of their children's lives.
The church paid tribute to many of the young lives lost this year, with crosses bearing their names and photos.
More than 500 people have been murdered in Chicago this year. The city hasn't reached that number since 2008.
City officials say crime in the city is down overall, with the exception of homicides.
