Police ID Victim In Fatal Crash On Route 202

WEST GOSHEN TWP., Pa. -

Police say one passenger was ejected and killed when a car left Route 202 in Chester County and slammed into a pole early on New Year's Day.

The crash was reported at 5:02 a.m. near Route 100, and it closed the highway's southbound lanes for more than six hours between from Boot Road to Paoli Pike.

Police found the vehicle in the grass off to the west side of the roadway.

The passenger who was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene was identified as Claude Norris III, 22, of Coatesville, police said.

The driver and another occupant were transported to Paoli Hospital for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation by police.
