NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Police say a young woman who was stumbling on a subway platform near Times Square fell onto the tracks and was killed by an oncoming train early Tuesday morning.

Authorities said the incident happened around 5:20 a.m. at the 34th Street and Seventh Avenue station, one stop away from Times Square. Witnesses said the 20-year-old woman climbed down onto the tracks on the No. 2 line, walked down the tunnel and laid down on the tracks.

This is the third deaths on the subways in recent weeks. Two men were pushed to their deaths in December.
