Naperville soldier returns home from Afghanistan

NAPERVILLE, Ill. (FOX 32 News) -

It was a heartwarming start to the New Year for one Naperville family. Army Sergeant Joseph Riehle returned home from Afghanistan.

A big group showed gratitude for his service at a surprise event put together by "Operation Welcome Home." Riehle also served in Iraq.

He'll get a few weeks at home, which he said he will spend working on wedding plans with his fiancée, Angela.

He will eventually head to Fort Carson, Colo. to return to work.
