Man Dead After Being Shot By Police In North Philadelphia

A 47 year-old male died Saturday night after being shot by a Philadelphia Police Officer in North Philadelphia.

Police were responding to a call of a Home Invasion of the 2400 block of North Cleveland Street around 9:45pm when they spotted a male matching the description of the suspect.

The male suspect pointed a gun at police, which caused police to open fire.  The male was struck once in his left thigh.

He was transported to Temple University Hospital by the police, where he was pronounced at 11:00pm.
