Recall Announced On Fisher-Price Newborn Sleepers

Posted: Updated:

A new recall announcement concerns a favorite product for new parents.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is recalling about 800,000 "Rock 'n Play" sleepers by Fisher-Price, because it has been reported that mold can develop between the removable seat cushion and the hard plastic frame.

Fisher-Price has gotten 600 reports of mold and 16 infants have been treated for respiratory issues, coughs, and hives.

The CPSC says parents should check for dark brown, gray, or black spots that can indicate the presence of mold.

If found, parents should contact Fisher-Price for cleaning instructions and further assistance.

Mold growth only occurs with use, so items still in stores are safe.
