KISSIMMEE, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
Police on Thursday arrested a Kissimmee man for selling invalid theme park tickets to tourists.
Pedro Rodriguez, 34, was taken into custody on Thursday.
On December 31, 2012, a couple visiting from Boston went to the Kissimmee Police Department to report a fraud. They explained that, prior to coming to Florida, they posted an ad on Craigslist looking for discounted theme park tickets.
According to the police, Rodriguez responded to their ad and arranged for the couple to purchase discounted tickets to Legoland and Universal Studios. When the couple arrived at Legoland, they learned the tickets they had just purchased had already expired.
Kissimmee police detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Pedro Rodriguez charging him with two counts of scheming to defraud holding a $10,000 bond.
On Thursday, police said Rodriguez sold invalid tickets to an undercover officer. As a result, he will be charged with another count of scheming to defraud, grand theft, and use of a 2-way communication device during a felony.
