Prep Star of the Week: Lance Whitaker of Bartlett High School

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

In Friday's Prep Star of the Week, we go to the hardwood and salute Bartlett High School Senior Lance Whitaker.

Whitaker is No. 34 in white. He went for 21 points in Bartlett's 63-41 victory earlier this week over West Chicago.

In the process, Whitaker reached the 1,000 point plateau for his career. He's the fifth player in school history to reach that mark.

What's especially impressive is that Whitaker missed all of his junior season after suffering a torn ACL.

Whitaker was pretty pumped about it. He tweeted out a picture he took of the Daily Herald sports section and the article about his big night.

Lance's one word caption? "Blessed."

Whitaker will play basketball next year at UIC.

Congratulations to Bartlett basketball star Lance Whitaker!
