One of the most coveted gifts a young person can get is a concert ticket to see their favorite group or artist. They can be hard to get, and expensive.
But too many kids are learning a hard lesson by showing up at the concert only to find out somebody else has used that ticket. So, how does it happen?
Kids get so excited when they score big concert tickets, so how do they show it? Some post it on social media, where all of their friends see it.
But strangers often see it, too. They can steal the ticket right from the screen. What they do is copy the barcode and put it on a homemade ticket. Those strangers can now use your ticket without even taking them from you.
Fake tickets are a problem for any venue. You are unlikely to get an incident like resolved when you get to the concert, and find out your ticket is no good because it's already been used.
