ATLANTA -
A state representative announced expanding legislation to give free college tuition to children of fallen public safety workers.
Several officers have died in the line of duty recently, including Atlanta Officers Richard Halford and Shawn Smiley, who were killed in helicopter crash.
Rep. Keisha Waites she consulted with smiley's widow on the new legislation. It would cover a student's four year college tuition.
Funds might come from an option to donate a dollar on state income tax and driver license forms.
