Groupon pulls the trigger on gun deals

Groupon pulls the trigger on gun deals

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

According to several reports, Groupon has stopped all gun-related promotions, including those offering discounts at gun ranges and gun classes.

The Huffington reports that gun control advocates are applauding the move, and gun-related businesses expressed outrage at the company's decision. The gun-related businesses were experiencing a rise in gun sales after the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Connecticut.

Apparently, this move by Groupon happened on Friday, and comes over a month after the school shooting. FOX News says Groupon did not mention the shooting in their reasoning to stop the gun-related offers.

Groupon tells the Business Insider that the offers are on hiatus as they review their policies. It's not known when, or if, the gun-related deals will return.

What do you think? Do you agree with Groupon's move to halt the gun-related deals? Post your comments on our FOX 5 Atlanta Facebook page, or tweet us @GoodDayAtlanta.
