Jonesboro police train for possible school shooting

JONESBORO, Ga. -

Police officers in Jonesboro went through a special training course at a local elementary school. The Jonesboro Police Chief decided to stage the drills following the deadly shooting in Newtown.

He told FOX 5 News that they are trying to get ahead of the learning curve with the training.

The active shooter exercise took place at a local Clayton County School campus.

Officer said the drill was intense.
