Prosecutors: McCormack should be put away permanently

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The trial is expected to begin Monday for a former Chicago priest who prosecutors said should be put away permanently.

In 2007, Daniel McCormack pleaded guilty to molesting five boys. He was sentenced to five years in prison.

When he came up for parole, the Cook County State's Attorney asked to keep McCormack locked up as a sexually violent person.

The Survivors Network of Those Abused by Priests said McCormack remains a dangerous person and should not be freed.
