Two men were arrested after carjacking a person in the Ranch Market parking lot at Central and southern Avenue on Thursday.

During the crime, police say Luis Zavala-Alverez and Omar Melendez wore masks, tied up a victim with duct tape and held him at gunpoint. They then allegedly drove him around before dumping him miles away.

Police later found the vehicle at Phoenix Memorial Hospital, where the two men were arrested and admitted to the crimes.

Luis Zavala-Alverez and Omar Melendez are charged with armed robbery, kidnapping, theft and weapons possession.
