AURORA, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -
The Kane County Coroner's Office is awaiting test results before ruling on the cause of death for a woman whose body was found in a pickup truck on Aurora's near East Side.
The coroner's office Friday morning performed an autopsy on Abigail Sanchez, 35, of the 800 block of North Gladstone Avenue in Aurora.
Sanchez was found dead in her boyfriend's truck Wednesday afternoon in the 600 block of Front and Union streets.
When Sanchez was removed from the vehicle there were no outward signs of trauma to her body, police said. Police said Thursday that Sanchez had known medical problems.
Sanchez was reported missing at 8 a.m. Wednesday by a family member, police said. The family member became concerned, police said, after learning from Sanchez's boyfriend that she had not returned to their apartment since she left to give a female acquaintance a ride at around noon on Tuesday.
Police said investigators were told that a man was seen getting out of the truck in which Sanchez's body was found at about 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Police believe they know the identity of the man, and also know who the woman is who received the ride from Sanchez on Tuesday. Police were attempting to find them for questioning Thursday afternoon.
The coroner's office said toxicology samples were sent to a forensics lab.
Police asked anyone with information on the incident to call police investigators at 630-256-5500.
