Maricopa man arrested in weekend road rage incident

Maricopa Police have made an arrest in a weekend road rage incident that ended with someone getting shot.
Late Saturday night, officers from the city of Maricopa Police Department responded to the area of John Wayne Parkway, north of milepost 175.
They found someone had been shot during a road rage incident, in which three vehicles were involved.
Police say it all started in the area of State Route 347 and Gila River Bridge. Police say Joseph Anthony Yee of Maricopa was tailgating the lead vehicle, which was occupied by a woman. Her husband was traveling in a separate car, behind Yee.
Authorities say the husband passed Yee's vehicle and stopped in the middle lane of John Wayne Parkway to confront Yee. A verbal altercation ensued and a passenger in the husband's car was shot right above the knee.
Yee was arrested and is facing 2 counts of aggravated assault and 3 counts of endangerment. His criminal background check came back clear.
The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No one else was hurt.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the incident.
