WOODBURY, N.J. -

Authorities say a Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office detective was wounded Tuesday afternoon when a weapon was accidentally discharged near the criminal justice center in Woodbury.

SkyFOX was over the scene of the incident which occurred around 1:45 p.m. at the complex, which is located on the first block of Hunter Street.

The shooting was reported to have occurred near a sally port, which is where authorities typically enter and exit with suspects.

"The wound was not life-threatening and no other persons were injured," the county prosecutor's office stated in a news release just before 2:30 p.m.

"The detective, who is not being identified because of the nature the officer's assignment, was taken to Underwood-Memorial Hospital in Woodbury," the release further states. "County Prosecutor Sean F. Dalton is presently at the hospital.  The incident is under investigation by the Prosecutor's Office and, as is required in officer-involved shootings, the New Jersey Attorney General's Office has been notified."
