A pedestrian was injured during a hit-and-run near Roosevelt Street and 7th Avenue on Wednesday morning.
Police say a 36-year-old man was taken to a hospital in extremely critical condition after being hit by a car. They say the driver took off after the pedestrian was hit.
Phoenix Police Officer James Holmes says the man is expected to survive.
After looking at evidence at the scene, detectives believe the suspect vehicle may be a 2007-2013 Chevy Tahoe. They say the vehicle should have front end damage, including the vehicle's lights.
Officers say they understand flight may be a person's first instinct, but are asking the person involved to come forward.
The intersection of Roosevelt Street and 7th Avenue was closed for several hours.
