The Talker: CBS tells Grammy Award attendees to cover buttocks, breasts

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
Corporate legal memos are typically written in boring technical jargon, but a memo reported to be from the TV network CBS is quite an exception.
Their recent memo about the upcoming Grammy Awards makes explicitly clear that CBS wants people attending the live broadcast to cover up.
The memo is said to have been sent via email to the representatives of show attendees.
"Please be sure that buttocks and female breasts are adequately covered. Thong type costumes are problematic. Please avoid exposing bare fleshy under curves of the buttocks and buttock crack. Bare sides or under curvature of the breasts is also problematic. Please avoid sheer see-through clothing that could possibly expose female breast nipples. Please be sure the genital region is adequately covered so that there is no visible 'puffy' bare skin exposure."
It's unclear why CBS is so concerned about this year's telecast.
Beyonce wore a skimpy outfit at the Super Bowl, but the only loud complaints were from PETA because of the leather.
CBS could be on edge because, after the game, a microphone picked-up the winning quarterback dropping a celebratory "F-bomb." A watchdog group is calling for punishment.
Awards shows are known to put racy styles on display. 13 years ago, Jennifer Lopez wore a plunging green dress at the Grammy's.
The memo's reference to "sheer" could be due to an outfit the singer Pink wore during a performance at the 2010 Grammys.
Is this memo necessary? Have awards shows been showing too much skin? Tell us what you think.
