Sweet 16 birthday party crashes Redskins QB Robert Griffin III's knee rehab

WASHINGTON -

It was a Sweet 16 birthday party to remember for one teenager and her friends, and it was all thanks to Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III.

Griffin injured his right knee during the Redskins' January playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks. He suffered a torn ACL and LCL and extensive rehab was ahead of him.

But on February 9, there was Griffin at a local resort in the D.C. metro area. We know that because a bunch of squealing teenagers, who took a bunch of pictures with him after he finished his rehab in the pool, told us all about it.

"We were all talking to him, and I was, 'Are you really RG3?' And he said, 'Yeah.' And his trainer was like you guys can get a picture after," said Mya Linden, the birthday girl explaining her experience to FOX 5.

Linden is from Charles Town, West Virginia, and she and her friends as well as her brother couldn't contain their excitement talking about the experience.

And to top it all off, they have the tweets to talk about. One of Linden's friends left an impression on the star quarterback.

Griffin tweeted:

"I was speechless," said Lauren Eyler, Linden's friend who jumped into the pool. "I was freaking out. I had no idea what to say to him. I was stunned."
