FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. (AP) - Authorities say four Fayette County schools could be closed under a budget-tightening plan introduced by the school board.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports (http://bit.ly/XyuQv5) that the plan is aimed at addressing a $15 million budget shortfall. It has angered some parents at the four schools -- Tyrone Elementary, Brooks Elementary, Fayette Middle School and Fayetteville Intermediate School.
The first of 2 hearings on the plan is scheduled for Thursday evening in Fayetteville. The next hearing will be Feb. 25.
