(CNS) -- The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose today for the 29th consecutive day, increasing a half-cent to $4.321, its highest amount since Oct. 25 and the highest in the state.
The average price has increased 57.1 cents during the streak, the longest since a 36-day streak from Feb. 9-March 16, 2011, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 9.9 cents more than one week ago, 57.2 cents higher than one month ago and 20.8 cents greater than one year ago.
Orange County
The Orange County average price rose today for the 29th consecutive day, increasing three-tenths of a cent to $4.309, the highest amount since Oct. 25.
The Orange County average price is 9.8 cents more than one week ago, 58.9 cents higher than one month ago and 20.4 cents greater than one year ago.
The Orange County average price has risen 56.1 cents during the streak of increases, the longest since at least 2009.
"Prices have now gone up even more than they did during the spike in October and the one last February, and more quickly than they did during any one-month stretch in 2008, when we had another big spike," Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California said.
"Los Angeles drivers are now paying nearly as much as drivers on Maui for regular unleaded, which is unprecedented."
Inland Empire
The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire rose today for the 25th consecutive day, increasing a half-cent to $4.281, its highest amount since Oct. 25.
The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties has risen 56.5 cents during the streak of increases, the longest since a 27-day streak from Feb. 8 to March 5, 2012, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 9.8 cents more than one week ago, 57.6 cents higher than one month ago and 20.7 cents greater than one year ago.
