Teen Magician Conjuring Up Fun At Flyers Carnival

Mitchell Rothstein's magic will astound you. Especially when you consider the  master of illusion is an eighth grader, just 13-years old.

"I just love entertaining people making people laugh and knowing things they don't."

The Haddonfield, New Jersey teen says he doesn't use trick decks or props.

He's a savant of sleight of hand.

"Or misdirection," explained MItchell. "You can get someone to think they're looking at something when you're really doing something over in another place."

Mitchell's quest to be like Blain started when he was a 9-year-old fourth grader. Fogged-in and bored in Nantucket he asked his dad to conjure up some fun.

"He taught me three or four magic tricks because  that's all he knew. Then he said, 'Mitchell, there's a place you can learn any magic trick in the world and it's called the library.'"

Viola! About a year later, Mitchell pulled a Houdini, escaping from a straitjacket at a school talent show.

He can also pull a few tricks on the slopes as evidenced by the 360 on skis and magic trick he performed in a video at Stratton Resort in Vermont.

Despite his many talents, for now he's focused on perfecting his prestidigitation.

Mitchell is performing during the Philadelphia Flyers carnival this weekend.

You can reach him through his web site at  MagicMitchell.com.
