Illinois lawmakers want to move polling places out of schools

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

A group of Illinois lawmakers want to move polling places out of schools.

The concern is for student safety in the wake of shootings like the one in Newtown, Connecticut.

Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka and State Representative Jack Franks said there are enough government buildings, churches and other polling places to fill the gap.
