A chase ended when a Georgia State Patrol vehicle sideswiped the suspect's car during rush hour near downtown Atlanta on Thursday.
The pursuit began in Fayette County and lasted more than 30 minutes. It involved Georgia State Patrol, East Point police and Atlanta police.
According to investigators, a woman was a victim of an armed robbery at a Kohl's department store on Pavilion Parkway in Fayetteville. While there, police got a description of the victim's vehicle, which the suspects allegedly stole, and sent a message to other agencies.
Police say deputies spotted the vehicle in north Fayette County and tried to pull over the car. The car fled and the pursuit began. It went through several residential areas and ended at the Interstate 20/Martin Luther King Jr. Drive ramp.
After the GSP vehicle hit the car, it spun around and stopped on a guardrail. Authorities then took three suspects into custody, two of them 16-years-old and the other 14-years-old.
Authorities said that those three suspects are also connected to a string of violent carjackings that span across the metro area.
The three teens face numerous charges including armed robbery, aggravated assault, theft by taking motor vehicle and attempting to elude. Police say the will be charged as adults, and gang charges may also be filed.
Police say the victim was not injured, and one Fayette County patrol car was damaged.
