Increased Patrols After 3rd Assault Reported On Kutztown Campus

KUTZTOWN, Pa. -

Kutztown University officials say they are working with campus police and Pennsylvania State Police to investigate three assaults reported on campus in the past week.

In a message sent to students Thursday, university president F. Javier Cevallos said he was "very concerned" about the safety of the university.

"I have met with my senior staff and we have developed a strict plan to bring the perpetrators of these crimes to justice," the letter read.

The school says it will increase security patrols on campus beginning Thursday night and was looking to improve security long-term.

"As a campus community, we cannot tolerate this behavior. We must work together to reclaim our campus and our personal safety," the letter read.
