A senior citizen was killed in her home in Cocoa Sunday morning. A spokesperson with the Cocoa Police Department said they believe someone killed the 70-year-old woman, whose not being named at this time as she was getting ready for church.
Another person was also hurt in the attack. Police said they believe the woman who's apart of a church car-pool group was late meeting up for the car-pool, so he went by the woman's home at 1311 N. Fiske Blvd. to check on her and detectives say that's when they think the man was attacked by the suspect.
They said that they think her church buddy came in while the crime was being committed and interrupted the crime as it was in progress. His injuries are unknown at this time, and Cocoa PD still aren't releasing his name, however, the man was airlifted to Holmes Regional Medical Center.
In the meantime, the woman's police are still on the look out for the suspect and her car. They found the 70-year-old woman's belongings at a second crime scene in the Canaveral Grove/Port St. John area, but they think the suspect is still driving around in the woman's 2010 Ford Fusion four door car, so they're asking for the Public's help.
