Phony Bomb Threat Causes Plane Delays

Posted: Updated:

A bomb threat by an angry airline passenger forced a plane to turn around this weekend.

The Florida-bound flight went back to Newark, New Jersey's Liberty Airport after an explosive threat by a passenger identified as Eron Hess.

Hess and his family flew late into Newark from Tel Aviv, missing their connecting flight to Miami.

Once Hess learned their luggage was already on the flight, airline officials say he threatened a gate agent by saying there was a bomb inside his luggage.

The 167 passengers onboard were very angry over the situation, saying the act was very selfish and not worth risking national security.

Airport officials say they plan to press charges.
