ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -

It will be a full afternoon at the shore Wednesday for Gov. Chris Christie, as he'll be focusing on getting the state ready for tourists.

Stone Harbor Elementary School reopened last week for the first time since Superstorm Sandy. Christie will visit with students before heading to Atlantic City for the New Jersey Travel Association Conference on Tourism.

The goal is to restore the Garden State after Sandy.

On Tuesday, the governor announced he's asking the federal government for $250 million to buy out homeowners in flood-prone areas.

FOX 29's Steve Keeley has more details in this video report streaming live from Atlantic City on Wednesday morning.
