Should Sixers Fans Get Refunds After Bynum Debacle?

PHILADELPHIA -

"I'm very passionate about my game, and I'm going to play with a high level of intensity and leave it out there."

As it turns out, what Andrew Bynum and the Sixers told us after the trade in August meant nothing.

After arthroscopic surgery Tuesday in New York, Bynum will not play a game this season.

FOX 29's Howard Eskin said they traded for a player with bad knees, so he sent out a question to the fans and Sixers CEO Adam Aron in a tweet on Tuesday.

Eskin asked that, since the Sixers get back $13 million in insurance money on Bynum, don't fans who purchased tics to see him get refunds from that money?

Here were some of the fan response:

@JLRYAN1981 – They should use that $ to refund any fan who bought a bynum jersey or shirt.

@CHEEZWHIZARD45 – The postage to mail out a refund is worth more than the tickets.

@JPTOTH825 – It worked out great for the sixers. they sold tickets, promoting bynum, without needing to pay him.

@BUBBABOBERICK – That money is going towards finding a mascot and paying for the tee-shirt shooter.

Thursday weather looks damp and stormy.  It will be mild and muggy to start with spotty showers early followed by afternoon and evening storms.  Highs in the upper 70s with winds out of the SW 5-10 mph. Some of the storms will produce locally heavy rain and gusty winds.

This system is from the same cold front that caused the midwest tornadoes. It will also usher in cooler air for the holiday weekend.
