PHILADELPHIA -

Police announced on Wednesday the arrest of a suspect for a shooting that took place in December in front of a 5-year-old.

Janmir Harris was arrested on Sunday for a homicide that occurred in Girard Estates, police said. Harris was the suspect in a shooting that happened December 23rd, 2012 at an Oregon Avenue Walgreens.

In that shooting, police say a 45-year-old man and a 5-year-old child were in their parked car in the Walgreen's lot on the 2300 block of Oregon Avenue. While there, another vehicle drove up and a then an unknown man got out of the car.

Police say he pulled out a handgun and fired several shots. The 45-year-old was struck multiple times but the child was not hurt.

Police said Harris became a suspect during the investigation after a witness identified him. He now faces murder and other related charges.
