Autopsy: Boy, 17, accidentally shot dead in Calumet City

CALUMET CITY, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A south suburban teenager accidentally shot himself dead Saturday night, an autopsy has found.

Police responded at 9:03 p.m. Saturday to a call of a person shot in the 0-100 block of Oglesby Avenue in Calumet City and found the teenager shot in the bedroom of an apartment, according to Calumet City police.

Tyshaun McClurge of the 17300 block of Wausau in South Holland was declared dead at 9:15 p.m. at Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

A Monday autopsy determined he died of a gunshot wound to the mouth and the death was ruled an accident, according to the medical examiner's office.
