Gas main rupture shuts down Marietta street

COBB COUNTY, Ga. -

Marietta police say Whitlock Avenue is shut down due to a gas leak near Marietta High School on Monday.

According to Marietta police, a construction crew struck and ruptured a gas main just before 10:30 a.m. Emergency crews shut down Whitlock Avenue in both directions for about 90 minutes while the gas main was repaired.

The road was reopened to traffic shortly before noon.
