Cyberattack worldwide

Massive cyberattack underway

MYFOXNY.COM -

A massive cyber attack is affecting Internet speed. The DOS (denial of service) attack uses regular people's computers to conduct the attack. People often get infected in spam mail.

"It's not something you notice right away. There is hesitation from the moment you type in a website and see it on the screen. That's where people are seeing slowness. This attack is hitting the heart of the Internet. Every website is a number, an IP address. This attack knows that the website goes with this number and that's what's being attacked," said Lance Ulanoff of Mashable.com.

The massive cyber attack started with Spamhaus which blocks a lot of spam mail for Internet service providers around the world. Many people think Cyber Bunker is the generator of the attack and went for Spam House. It didn't work and the attack went for a company that tries to help Spamhouse, Cloud Fare.

Identity information is not being stolen in this cyberattack.

It is not clear who is responsible for the attack.

To avoid infecting your computer, do not open spam, suggests Ulanoff.
