Thanks to a FOX 5 viewer, the case of a stolen classic car has been solved. The rare 1969 Chevy Camaro Rally Sport was stolen from a Norcross automotive shop right after the owner bought it, and now he's ecstatic to learn it's been found.
Kelly Calvo with IC Racing Corp said that someone took the vehicle after cutting the lock and breaking through the shop's gate on South Berkeley Lake Road early Monday. She said that the car's owner never got a chance to enjoy the vehicle.
"The owner purchased the vehicle, brought it straight here to get things worked on. So yes, it's very upsetting for them and for us," Calvo said.
The stolen vehicle was found early Wednesday in Hall County. Eddie Pierce was hunting in the area when he spotted it parked near the woods off of Union Church Road. When he saw it, Pierce says he knew almost immediately it was the car he'd seen on FOX 5 the night before.
"I had to watch your newscast last night," said Pierce. "Other than that, I wouldn't have known the car was missing."
Pierce will get a $3,000 reward which was offered by the auto repair shop. The shop's owner told FOX 5 she was devastated to tell the owner the car had been stolen, but this morning, she got to call again and tell him the good news.

The car did have a dent and a scrape, but Calvo said that it can all be fixed.
