CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A 30-year-old McHenry man has been charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and aggravated criminal sexual abuse, the McHenry County Sheriff's office announced Friday.

The arrest of Craig L. Tankson stemmed from an investigation that was initiated on March 18 by the McHenry County Sheriff's Office and the McHenry City Police Department.

Following the investigation it was determined that Tankson had committed those offenses against a victim who was younger than 13 years old, in three separate locations, a release from the sheriff's office said.

After criminal charges were approved by the McHenry County State's Attorney's Office, an arrest warrant was obtained for Tankson, the release said.

The McHenry County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Apprehension Unit arrested Tankson, of the 1700 block of Highview Avenue in McHenry, on Friday and he is currently being held on $100,000 bond at the McHenry County Jail.

His next court appearance was scheduled for Saturday at 8 a.m.
