DIXON, Ill. (Associated Press) -

Another city employee in Dixon is being accused of using public money for personal expenses.

The (Dixon) Telegraph reports that Public Works Director and City Engineer Shawn Ortgiesen is suspected of using his city-issued credit card to rack up more than $13,000 in personal expenses.

Mayor Jim Burke has placed Ortgiesen on administrative leave during an investigation.

Burke says there's no indication of any connection between Ortgiesen's conduct and the nearly $54 million that Rita Crundwell stole from the city over two decades while serving as comptroller.

Dixon Finance Director Paula Meyer says Ortgiesen has reimbursed some of the money but the city cannot confirm the repayment of more than $8,000 of the total.

No charges have been announced.

Ortgiesen did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment.
