PHILADELPHIA -

Another emotional day is ahead for the City of Philadelphia as it prepares to say a final goodbye to a fallen firefighter.

Battalion Chief Michael Goodwin died in a fire Saturday on Fabric Row in the city's Queen Village section.

Firefighters from across the country will join mourners from our area today for the services before Goodwin's body is laid to rest.

There is another viewing for the battalion chief, who was promoted posthumously, starting at 9 a.m.

Then, the funeral service starts at noon at Saint Michael's Lutheran Church in Kensington.

On Wednesday, Goodwin's body rode Wednesday atop Engine 53, which was led by the Philadelphia Fire Department's top brass, to Givnish Funeral Home in Northeast Philadelphia.

Members of his company and hundreds of others stood in salute to honor the colleague, husband, dad and grandfather.

Mayor Michael Nutter presented Goodwin's widow, Kelly, the flag draped over his coffin.

FOX 29's Steve Keeley is streaming live from the funeral home as here a final viewing will start in just a few hours.
