School buses reported stuck in water in Oswego, Yorkville

OSWEGO, Ill (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Emergency personnel in Kendall County responded Thursday morning to two reports of school buses getting stuck in flooded roadways.

At about 8:12 a.m., Kendall County Sheriff's deputies, along with personnel from the Oswego Fire Protection District, responded to the 1800 Block of Collins Road in an unincorporated area of Oswego, for a report of a school bus stuck in water, the sheriff's office said.

There were five people on the bus at the time and none were injured. They were safely taken from the bus and away from the scene, the sheriff's office said.

About 8:57 a.m., sheriff's deputies were called to the area of Route 47 and Platteville Road near Yorkville for a second report of a school bus stuck in water.

Sheriff's deputies and personnel form the Lisbon Seward Fire Protection District responded, but the school bus was gone before they arrived, according to the sheriff's office.
