Chaplains honored for work with police in DeKalb County

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -

DeKalb County leaders took time during Tuesday's commission meeting to honor chaplains who work with police.

DeKalb CEO Burrell Ellis and commissioners acknowledged the critical role the Chaplain Services Unit plays to provide spiritual guidance and support to officers serving their community.

Some members of DeKalb's chaplain service also work in other roles for the county.

They were praised for their selfless service to help police working a high pressure job, which officials say can take a toll on one's soul at times.
