Strapless dresses banned from school dance

ATLANTA -

A New Jersey school has banned strapless dresses for an upcoming eighth-grade dance. The school says it will turn away girls who do not obey the ban, and that has some parents upset.

According to a report on Shine.Yahoo.com, the ban was put in place by the principal of Readington Middle School in Readington.

One parent says she objects to government changing the rules without asking parents.

The Readington school district says it "has a policy regarding dress code which is being universally applied to the school day and school events."
