DETROIT (WJBK) -

Detroit Police are working to solve another brutal crime in the city.  47-year-old Kevin Watson was gunned down in his own home on the 5900 block of Lodewyck Thursday night.

Police said somebody let three people into the house around 8:00 p.m., a fight broke and shots were fired.

We're told Watson's 13-year-old son was inside, and sources also told Fox 2 the victim's hands and feet were bound and his head was covered before he was shot multiple times.  He died at St. John Hospital.

We saw homicide investigators at the house with what appeared to be family members.  Nobody would talk on camera, but they spent time inside the house and also looking at a car in the driveway.

Family members and friends have been expressing their grief via social media.

One friend posted, "What's wrong with people in the Detroit area.  Just prey on and kill people for no good reason?"

Another post indicated it may have been a robbery.

Watson's son and daughter also posted messages both calling April 25 the worst day of their lives.

His son wrote, "My pops was more than my best friend.  He was my idol and everything I aspired to be."

His daughter posted, "I didn't even get to say goodbye or I love you."

Anyone with information on the murder of Kevin Watson should call Detroit Police.
